Prong Collar. To use or not:
Today we are sharing a video about prong collars. We will follow our customers instructions for the care of their kiddo, as long as we feel confident that it is a safe and comfortable choice. Nobody wants Fido or scruffy to be hurt!
Below is a video where the speaker explains the best and most gentle way to use them. We feel that it is VERY important that if you choose to use a pronged collar, that it is done correctly so hopefully there is even less front facing pressure applied to your pups neck/airway.
Some of you may have a “puller”. Ever notice how ALL that pressure from them pulling is placed onto the front of the neck? The idea with a prong (or even a slip), is that the pressure is spread out over a larger area, thus reducing it. He explains how if fit correctly, the pressure is applied across the whole surface area around the neck when pulled versus just the front.
Again, this is a choice that we have to leave up to the customer. ..but the main goal of our post is to help educate that if used, a prong collar absolutely must be put on and used correctly.
